What You Can Expect From Your Visit

If this is your first visit, the first thing we will do is review your medical history. It is essential that the therapist knows your physical condition and history in order to provide appropriate treatment.
You will be asked about your preferences for the environment – music, lighting levels, etc – so that your session is as relaxing as possible. Your therapist will also answer any questions or concerns you may have. Your first session will probably be longer than the standard one-hour session, because we will want to ensure that all of your questions are answered, and because you may not know what to expect.
Your therapist will leave the room after you discuss your medical history, and you will have time to remove as much of your clothing as is comfortable for you. After you are on the massage table and covered, the therapist will come back and begin the massage. Unless you request otherwise, the massage will be a total body experience, including your back, legs, gluteals, feet, abdomen, pectorals (chest), arms, neck, face, and scalp. If you have any special requests, either for extra attention to a specific area, or an area you wish to be avoided, just let your therapist know and you will be cheerfully accommodated.
In general, sessions last an hour. If you would like a shorter or a longer session, please make your request when scheduling your appointment. It is important for your therapist to schedule enough time for your session.
